Hello,
I have been searching around trying to find the best Lync solution and I don't want to get too far into prototyping before reaching a dead end. I am hoping someone has done this in the past and can save me countless hours of walking down the wrong path.
Our current setup:
We have a Lync 2013 server setup and running as well as an application server setup with Office Web Apps.
Currently, our users can setup a meeting through the web browser using the http://meet.<lyncserver> (url is something like that). We use UCWA to get user credentials to create meetings and then launch the meeting application.
The meeting application is great and meets MOST of our needs (see below). I would just rather have the "one solution to rule them all."
Requirements:
- Voice with some sort of push-to-talk functionality
- Chat functionality with custom inputs based on database entries (ie, "comment 1", "comment 2", "Hello World", etc...)
- Persistent chat
- Application sharing
- Whiteboarding
From what I have seen, I can do very little of this with UCWA. I would love to take the meeting page that is already there and customize it but it doesn't look like that is possible. I am now looking into UCMA to see if it will allow me to make my own "meet"-like application.
I would prefer it to be web-based like the current meeting page rather than an application that needs to be installed on each client.
Am I barking up the right tree with UCMA or is there another solution that would serve me best?
Thanks!
